William Grobman, MD, MBA

Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chief Scientific Officer, Care New England; Associate Dean of Clinical Research, The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University

Biography

After receiving his BA from Amherst College and his MD from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Grobman undertook training in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Northwestern University. During his fellowship training, he completed an MBA in Health Services Administration and Decision Sciences at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Dr. Grobman has served on faculty of the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University and at The Ohio State University, and he is presently Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Associate Dean of Clinical Research at Brown University Medical School, Chief Clinical Officer of Care New England, and Executive Vice-Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the Past President of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

His research has focused on the prediction and prevention of adverse obstetric outcomes, the optimization of obstetric health services, and the reduction of health disparities. He has been the PI on multiple NIH and foundation grants, authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications, and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
