Health Research (HR) Core

The HR Core’s mission is to provide the infrastructure for clinical and translational research needed to address the unmet health needs of the population of Rhode Island. Partnerships from different departments or institutions are encouraged. Trans-institutional collaborations among investigators at Brown University, University of Rhode Island, and/or Rhode Island healthcare institutions are highly encouraged.

Specific Aims

Aim 1. Build capacity by funding high-impact, innovative and collaborative CTR projects that address healthcare challenges in the state of RI.

Aim 2. Enhance networking for CTR, both in RI and beyond, by prioritizing research collaboration that is interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and community engaged.

Aim 3. Develop a highly trained workforce for CTR by enhancing the professional development of awardees and CTR teams by structured mentoring and training opportunities.
