Open Now! Advance-R Internal Study Section Opportunity

We're excited to announce the second RFA for the Advance-R Program. We are now accepting applications for an internal study section opportunity for those looking to submit applications for their first R Award (or similar awards). Scholars will also attend didactic sessions on topics related to R-award preparation. This program is open to those submitting for the first time, and those resubmitting applications for funding.

About the Program

If you have a faculty appointment at Brown, URI, Care New England, Lifespan, the VA Providence Healthcare System, or other degree-granting institutions in RI and are working on submitting your first R-award (or similar) application, take advantage of this opportunity to have your proposals reviewed by an internal study section consisting of content experts and experienced NIH reviewers prior to external submission.

Written NIH-style feedback, as well as additional comments on grantsmanship will be provided to help improve the quality of your application. Additionally, we will provide training on issues related to the submission process.

Approximately 4 grant applications will be accepted
For original submissions or re-submissions
The main criteria for selection will be the quality of the materials noted below under “Requirements for Participation”
Didactic sessions will focus on often-overlooked areas of grant applications (such as logistical aspects of the application process) and on specific aims, and approach.

August 10th: Request to Participate Form Available
September 7th: Request to Participate Due
On or around September 22nd: Notice of Selection
