"EXPLORING SECOND-TO-SECOND EXERCISE INTENSITY AND DISEASE RISK OUTCOMES"
CO-PI: Shira Dunsiger, PhD

Despite the wealth of empirical data showing that physical activity is associated with reduced disease risk, most Americans do not get enough moderate to vigorous intensity activity to meet national guidelines, and interventions to improve adherence have been met with mixed results. However, recent research is showing that meeting the guidelines in their current form may not be necessary for many health benefits. Given the high prevalence of chronic diseases associated with not being physically active both in Rhode Island and nationally, this study will have important public health relevance.
