Register for the 2024 RI IDeA Symposium: Health Effects of Environmental Change

In collaboration with all of Rhode Island's IDeA funded programs, Advance RI-CTR welcomes investigators, research staff, stakeholders and community members to attend the 2024 Emerging Areas of Science Rhode Island IDeA Symposium on October 24th, both in person and virtually!

This year's theme is "Health Effects of Environmental Change." We look forward to a wonderful day of science, collaboration and an opportunity for Rhode Island investigators to network at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

We are pleased to feature two distinguished keynote speakers:

  • Kari Nadeau, MD, PhD, Chair of the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the John Rock Professor of Climate and Population Studies, will present "Climate Change and Health: Innovative Solutions to Act On"
  • J.P. Walsh, PhD, Professor at the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography, will present "Coastal Challenges in the Past, Present and Future: From Major Storms to Microplastics"

In addition, there will be two optional lunch-time break out sessions, and a poster session.
