"Chronotherapy for Perinatal Depression Grant Resubmission Award"
Perinatal depression and anxiety are serious mood disorders that cause suffering, can lead to suicide in new mothers, and result in poor maternal/child outcomes. This study will determine if a behavioral treatment for depression and anxiety (chronotherapy) is efficacious for women receiving care for perinatal depression in an outpatient setting. This intervention could have major public health impact due to the high prevalence of perinatal depression and anxiety, and may be of particular use in women who are reluctant to take medications for depression during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
