CPVB COBRE Has New Respiratory Core

New services are available to RI investigators from the CPVB COBRE's new Respiratory Core.

The mission of the Respiratory Core is to develop centralized systems for cardiopulmonary structural/functional assessments and mitochondrial function analysis, with the goal to enhance the productivity and the research impact of CPVB COBRE investigators and others in Rhode Island.

Services Include: 

  • Cigarette smoke model and chronic hypoxia model
  • Lung and heart structural and vascular remodeling assessments
  • Mitochondria isolation and physiological/biochemical assays
  • Mitochondrial respiration and function
    • Seahorse XFe96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer
    • High-Resolution O2k-FluoRespirometers (Oroboros)
