Registration Now Open for the 2022 Emerging Areas of Science IDeA Symposium!

The 2022 Emerging Areas of Science IDeA Symposium will be held on Friday, June 10th!

The symposium will be held at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. We are looking forward to welcoming investigators, research staff, stakeholders, and community members across the state both in person and virtually as this will be a day-long, hybrid event. Click HERE to register now!

For the past 15 years, the NIGMS-funded Institution Development Awards (IDeA) programs in Rhode Island have joined together to hold a state-wide, day-long symposium that both celebrates successes and fosters collaborations among Rhode Island investigators. The theme of the 2022 symposium is “Health Disparities in Clinical and Translational Research”. The symposium aims to educate and engage biomedical investigators in RI regarding the importance of engaging diverse populations in the planning and the execution of clinical and translational research, with the ultimate goals to reduce health disparities in our state and to improve the health of all Rhode Islanders.

We’re excited to announce that the two featured keynote speakers for this year’s symposium are Dr. Clyde Yancy and Dr. Mariana Stern. Additionally, we look forward to many science talks, breakout sessions, and poster presentations by investigators from Brown, The University of Rhode Island, and the affiliated hospital systems. Please click here to visit the Symposium website to view information about the speakers, and the schedule for the day. *Please note, the schedule is subject to change.
