Eleven clinical and academic investigators from Brown and URI have been selected for the inaugural Advance-K Scholar Career Development Program.
During this year-long, intensive program, the scholars will receive individualized training to prepare and submit a successful extramural career development award application (NIH K series or equivalent).
The program kicked off on November 6, 2019 and is led by Ulrike Mende, MD, Sharon Rounds, MD, and Audra Van Wart, PhD.
The scholars are:
- Adeel Abbasi, MD, Instructor of Medicine, Postdoctoral Fellow at Brown University
- Harrison Bai, MD, former Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at Brown University
- Roma Bhuta, DO, MPH, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University
- Sevdenur Cizginer, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Research at Brown University
- Sebhat Erqou, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Providence VA Medical Center
- Jared Fridley, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Rhode Island Hospital
- Joshua Honeyman, MD, former Assistant Professor of Surgery, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University
- Michael Reznik, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Brown University
- Amy Stamates, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island
- Maya Vadiveloo, PhD, RD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Rhode Island
- Manshu Yang, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island
