Faculty and Postdocs: Take Your Research to the Next Level with State-of-the-Science Qualitative Training at Brown University! Beginning in July, the Qualitative Sciences and Methods Training Program (QSMTP) welcomes faculty and postdoctoral investigators for its seminar and workshop series in qualitative and mixed research methods. For departments and institutes with more than one interested scholar, QSMTP offers a discounted partner-level program.
What are the training options?
- A didactic “Foundations in Qualitative Methods” seminar series, which provides attendees with theoretical and methodological knowledge of qualitative strategies and helps determine if, and how, qualitative or mixed methods can take your research to the next level
- Weekly qualitative skills-building workshops where internationally recognized faculty train, coach, and consult with you step-by-step through your entire project
- Expert consultation for qualitative and mixed methods grant writing and publication
How can I participate?
PARTNERSHIP LEVEL: Academic and research units are invited to support the program via three-year commitments (July through June academic calendar). This commitment secures seats for two postdoctoral or faculty scholars per year in weekly qualitative skills-building workshops and a four-month didactic “Foundations in Qualitative Methods” seminar series, with discount seats available for additional scholars.
INDIVIDUAL LEVEL: If your academic or research unit is a QSMTP partner, you are eligible for a discounted seat; consult your chair or director to learn more.
Postdoctoral fellows and faculty from non-partner units may participate at a standard cost per seat. The number of scholars may be capped, with preference given to partners, to ensure high-quality, hands-on training and mentoring.
Learn more about this program and opportunity on the QSMTP website. Please contact QSMTP director Dr. Kate Guthrie with any questions.
